The Big Video In the Sky

When I started this blog it was a creative outlet for me to share my sense of humor and my observations of this crazy life. A few times I got off track and went a little deep. Not that it is unusual for a blonde to have deep thoughts, it happens occasionally. Is it a coincidence that the weather is awful and I feel like spewing a thousand swear words covered in poison? That would be totally out of character for me and probably wouldn't make me feel any better. But I'll share a few more deep thoughts until I go back and read this in a week and ask, "What was I thinking?" and then delete it.

Have you ever done anything so bad, you feel like you may as well be naked in front of a crowd? That nothing short of self-flagellation with a cat-of nine-tails will make you feel better? You probably haven't because most of my friends are really righteous and have no reason to feel that level of guilt.

Have you ever done anything so stupid that while logic was screaming at you, you thought you knew better? And then you were left looking like a fool? Probably not.

So what do you think about the "big video in the sky?" Some people believe everything you ever did in your life will be flashed before your eyes at judgement, good and bad. I don't believe that. In the Doctrine and Covenants 58:42 it says, "Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I , the Lord, remember them no more." Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. When you think about all the things that humans have forgiven for, even the worst sin of murder, why would we doubt the Lord would forgive us? Maybe because self-flagellating feels better and we feel we have paid some sort of penance.

I'm hoping my "big video in the sky" will be mostly a comedy mixed with a little drama, suspense, music and maybe offer some inspiration. What do you think about the "big video in the sky?"

You know, sometimes the concept of a "big video in the sky" is meant to help us reflect on the past in order to learn for the future. You must remember, nothing in this life is set in stone, EXCEPT for the eternal principals of the Temple. That is why there is an Atonement, and why we are forgiven. The problem is, most times we forget that we need to forgive ourselves. THAT is the hardest thing to do, and why it is most often forgotten. Krista, you are a special daughter of our Heavenly Father. Satan knows this as well and is really beating up on you right now. If anyone knows how you feel, it is Jesus Christ. Just say a simple prayer for strength. That's all. You don't need to bear your soul. But the power of prayer cannot be denied. I'll say a prayer for you as well. You are an AWESOME person! And don't you forget it!!!
Love ya!!!

I'm with you. I hope we are harder on ourselves than our Father is.

Oh, but could you please add a bit of a musical to your video in the sky. As long as you've got comedy/drama, etc. a little "doe a deer" might be fun!

Sweet Krista....I'm sorry that today has been so rough. Kari had many wise things to say. I would follow up what she said with, there is strength and comfort in setting goals and moving forward. You will feel better...I know you will. You are seeking peace, right? If there is no peace, there is no real fun and we all know that is what motivates you. :) Look for the things that will bring you lasting peace and chase them. Make them a part of your life.

I love you like you are my sister. I'm sorry you are hurting. You are always in my prayers. Things like what you are going through can serve to make people stronger.

When you are up to it, give me a call.

Krista, Krista you are such a dear. I'm sorry that life gets rough somtimes and want you to know you are not in this alone. Our Savior loves us so much that he has promised that he will be here for us. I've been through some bad stuff I thought I would never be able to handle, maybe not so well, but I did and it was only with the help of my Savior. Read Alma 7:11-12 to remeber what we have been told about Christ's ability to succor us his people. We love you and most of all Christ loves you more. Keep your chin up! You are a great person.
