It's amazing what you can do with a covered dog food can, paper towels, skewers, paper, glue sticks and crayons. I love this craft. But this is the only craft.
I have found some newlywed bloggers, nearly dead bloggers, newly divorced bloggers, and some very ....oh....'scuze me..... ho .... oh..... ho hum bloggers. Lots of mediocracy. I have also noticed a lot of "cause" bloggers. "This Blogger Has a Rare Disease" and you go to their blog and realize you have nothing in common with 27 bottles of prescriptions, shouting profanities when they're nervous and adult size diapers. Not that I don't feel bad about their disease, but I don't really want to read about that every week (or every day). Which brings me to my cause. I don't talk about it often because I don't want my condition to define me.
Very few people tolerate my condition. I am a blonde. I was born this way. My hair slowly started to darken as I aged, but I decided to be proud of my true color and stopped trying to hide my condition. People that know me, love me for who I am, and when I see someone dressed exactly like me in public and feel a slight embarrassment just to realize it is my own reflection in a window, it is okay. BTW, that really happened. I'm just so glad I didn't say anything out loud to the group of friends I was with. But I kept looking at her, she kept looking at me - yeah. We noticed we were both wearing the same thing.
So back to "Comment Support" groups, you know what I noticed? On their "Feature Day" they gain like 250 followers in one day! But being the procrastinator - well - busy person really - that I am, I visit a few days late and I notice that they are back to five comments. Why?
You know what, I'm gonna resign from SITS. I'm gonna start my own "comment support group" called PITS. "People I Try Stoppingbytoread-andleaveaclevercommentwheneverIgetaspareminute-betweenworkingfulltimeandschoolparttime-andrunningchildrentotheERforconcussionsafterfallingoffatireswing."
It does have a nice ring to it don't you think?

Up too late, too tired and chuckling and snickering so I won't wake The Snore in the next room.
I'm with you on the plethora of RBBB's (really bad, boring blogs) out there. I'm with you on anti-craft. Gave that up and was still called Homemaking Leader for a few years. Everyone was glad when I was demoted to cubs.
Congrats on being blonde and proud of it. I only act and think blonde. When I swam in chlorine and didn't wear a hat in the sun I went blonde. Now I have no clue what color my real hair is---DON'T wanna know!
And my sympathies to anyone who has to put in time in the ER with a broken kid. That is Hell on a stick.
Best wishes on your school classes.
Krista,
You never seem to amaze me with your wonderful gift to amuse. I actually get excited to read your blog. It cheers me up. I'm sure at some point my blog will grow and be it owns little ray of sunshine or out of control beast. Right now I've just have found it to be therapeutic.
Keep up your marvelous works.
The words bring happiness to face as I laugh out loud, and the kids wonder what is going on. (I'll keep them wondering)
Love your blog.
Hahaha! I love it! Keep up the good work! :)
You never mentioned the concussion from a tire swing. Geez. I'm assuming it's Mimi. Is she OK? Anyway, yeah, ho-hum mediocrity. But I like Pits~great acronym. As long as they're clean shaven.
This is TOO funny. So, they are bringing Bloggy Boot Camp to St George, in November. (You should come, by the way.) And I have been asked to speak. But I am not a SITS member. I tried it for about a month, and it was so overwhelming to me. I was talking to my friend about it yesterday.
I really, really like the concept, but I just felt like I couldn't keep up.
Ooooo, I hope I don't fall into any of those catergories..Let see, I don't swear, talk about health conditions, do crafts or get all political...Which leaves just the everyday stuff, hope its not boring! Can I join your new comment club?
I totally support your cause!
I'm just curious......which category do I fall in?
I'm not on any meds so that's not it.
I don't have a rare disease...so not that one.
I'm a bit saggy, maybe that one.
I love loved you noticing the lady wearing your EXACT same outfit. That is awesome. I have scared myself out of my wits a few times when I thought I was alone and walked past a mirror.
HAHA!!!
i am tweeting this out!!
Oh MY!
i LOVE your cause!!!
I'll support you. 'Cause we blondes have to stick together...
I wish you could hear me laugh when I read this!!!
Hysterical...
Love you!
ROTFLMAO :)
You are dedicated!! I love it... I am sorry but I think my blog may suffer the boring status at times... but if you want to see what we are doing... jump on:) btw... mint slices on the way!!
Krista,
I don't know why I had a scapel in my purse.
Doesn't everyone want one?
It was not used on a procedure in the ER, I was cleaning stuff up and threw it in my pocket. It's retractable. No biggie right?
Ya, I've used it many times to open mail, pick zits, get gum off surfaces.
Comes in handy.
Let me know if you want one.
Sign me up because I LOVE IT!!
Hmmm... I take meds, I'm bipolar, I have a wacky upbringing, I breach the TMI bar at times... Oh GOSH! ME??? LOL! Hey! I DON'T SWEAR! ;p
Anywho! Loved your post, as ALWAYS!! I do jump on those blog hop things to meet some new bloggers. I follow many on their pages, but I only REALLY follow the ones that interest me. You know, like YOU! ;D ...and I've NEVER gotten that many... There are those I actually interact with and those I DO follow regularly. I have found some awesome ones and ones I relate to.
So, my Saturday post (today's) has a question for YOU! (and Lisa... and others...) Something I thought might be FUN! And NO! It's NOT a blog hop!! ;p I know that's what you're hoping for!!
How much do I love you?!?!? I quit visiting SITS because I was tired of the very things you named. I am so with you on the PITS group. I have been a lame bloggy friend this summer. But I totally support or cause and your blonde roots.
Hmmmm….I debated on leaving a comment as I am not blonde.
Oh well, I guess I could make an exception this one time.
Your CUP runneth over Krista!
I saw on a message board a "group" that someone had started that was "You follow me, I'll follow you back!" The idea was, you go in, add your link, then you follow all three hundred or so blogs that are listed, and they will all come and follow you too.
Who in their ever lovin mind would think this is a good idea? Isn't the idea behind following someone actually liking what they write? So you follow, so you can read again? This is not rocket science, is it? I don't want followers just for number's sake... that's just silly.
And you're right... who really has time to DO all of that reciprocal following stuff?
I've never understood the concept behind SITS so I've never joined. I don't want comments for the sake of comments. PITS for me, I guess. Should I push the child or wait for them to fall on their own?
Oh my heck, I just died laughing. I'm a member but I haven't been by in months, for all the reasons you said.
You go girl!
